Preparation

Clear a safe movement area and prepare a short list of character prompts.

Step-by-step

  1. 1Invite everyone to spread out with enough space to move safely.
  2. 2Play music and let the group dance, walk, groove, or move in place.
  3. 3Stop the music clearly.
  4. 4Call out a prompt, such as drummer, rock star, sleepy singer, superhero, statue in a museum, or slow-motion dancer.
  5. 5Everyone freezes in that character or shape until the music starts again.
  6. 6Restart the music and repeat with a new prompt each round.
  7. 7To make it longer, let participants suggest the next freeze prompt.
  8. 8To make it more challenging, add rules like freeze on one foot, freeze with a partner, or freeze in the emotion of the song.
