Preparation
Choose a song the group knows. Privately remove several words and label each blank as noun, verb, object, place, emotion, person, adjective, or silly sound.
Step-by-step
- 1Do not reveal the song title yet.
- 2Ask the group for words that match each blank, such as a noun, verb, object, place, emotion, person, adjective, or silly sound.
- 3Fill in the blanks with the group's words.
- 4Reveal the song and explain that the group has created a new version.
- 5Sing the funny version together.
- 6If the group wants, sing the original chorus afterward to bring everyone back together.
- 7To make it longer, split into teams and let each team create a different version of the same song.
- 8To make it more challenging, ask for words that still fit the rhythm or rhyme of the original line.
